Birchbox time!
My September Birchbox arrived last week. This month's box had Beauty Protector Shampoo and Conditioner (sample size), Mereadesso All-in-One Moisturizer (foil packet), Ruffian Nail Lacquer in Hedge Fund (full size) and GlamNatural Cream Blush (3 foil packets in different shades). This month's box seemed skimpy in comparison to past months. Wish there were more samples.
The Beauty Protector Shampoo and Conditioner...they.smell.amazing! OMG, love it. As soon as I lathered up I recognized the fragrance from the Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle, a leave-in conditioning mist, that I received in a Birchbox a few months back. Not only is the scent amazing, but the shampoo & conditioner duo is fantastic for detangling and provides just enough moisture to make me hair feel healthy and soft. If the full size bottles weren't $21.95 each I would purchase them but I cannot spend that much on something that I will be washing down the drain.
Speaking of expensive products, the Medreadesso All-in-One Moisturizer is supposed to be a one-stop formula. It's supposed to be an anti-aging day & night cream, serum, eye cream, toner and primer. Those are some pretty hefty claims for one little product. I gave it a try and the first thing that I noticed is that it's a pretty light-weight, silicone-feel texture for a product that does it all. The foil pack probably contains a week's worth of applications. Once it's gone it's gone though. At $120 for the full size, which is only 1.7oz, I will definitely not be repurchasing.
The Ruffian Nail Lacquer in Hedge Fund is a moss green with gold shimmer. The formula applies streaky on the first coat but covers more evenly with a second coat. The color is a feminine spin on army green, which I like but I'm not a huge fan of shimmer finish polishes. I will probably wear this shade over the next few months-- it's a good fall color. It's doubtful that I will be repurchasing at $10 for a full size, which is only 0.17oz. That's tiny.
I haven't tried the GlamNatural Cream Blushed yet. I'm just not that excited about it since the full size, 0.5 oz, is $32. This has been an expensive Birchbox. I need more variety of price points. Hopefully next month's bag is more diverse.
