Spellbinding...
I picked up the Kat VonD Spellbinding Eye Shadow Book from Sephora. Having loved the Ladybird palette, I figured that this new palette would have to be awesome.
The Spellbind palette has 20 gorgeous shadows. Most of the shadows have some sort of shimmer or glitter. These shadows are richly pigmented and blend like a dream. The Ladybird palette is all mattes so I've been combining shadows from each palette to create some variety in my looks-- they blend together beautifully. I do wear a shadow primer (UD Primer Potion Original Formula) under these shadows. This is effective at keeping the shadows from creasing and fading throughout the day. I think that I could get the shades to look more vibrant if I tried them over coordinating colored bases but I haven't tried that technique yet.
I've really been loving the purple shades in this palette lately-- I think that purple looks great on brown eyes. Here's a look that I put together to showcase these gorgeous purpley shades.
I used Arcadia on the inner 1/3 of the lid up to the crease, Babe on the center 1/3 of the lid up to the crease and Wonderland on the outter 1/3/outter V and up into the crease. I blended the crease out with Countess which I also applied on the brow bone. Then I used a combination of Instaglam and Galore to highlight the tear duct and at the arch of the brow. I then applied a thin line of black liquid liner at the base of the lashes on the upper lash line.
Then I decided that a pop of gold on the lower lash line. I lined the lash line with a metallic gold liner and topped it with a combination of Fallen and Sunset Blvd, then smoked it out. Mascara on both the top and bottom lash line and we're done.
I think that I will definitely get a lot of used out of this palette. So many gorgeous shadows...love!
