January Ipsy Glam Bag!
My January Ipsy Glam bag arrived on Saturday...though I totally cheated this month and looked at the site for a spoiler. I know, I suck. Here's what I got this month...
1. Absolute Make-Up Cleansing Tissues: the first thing that I noticed about these wipes is a pretty strong cucumber scent. The wipe itself is untextured (textured wipes remove makeup more easily) and less moist than I like. After using this wipe my skin was left with a tacky film. I'll stick to my CVS brand makeup wipes.
2. Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo: this dry shampoo is in powder form. I feel like this presentation is a little messy and you're more likely to notice a white cast because it's easy to apply more than you need. I know that dry shampoos are all the rage but I'm still not sold (and I own and have tried a ton).
3. Mica Beauty Tinted Lip Balm in Natural: I was really looking forward to this product because the winter has taken a toll on my poor lips. The natural shade is nice for a low-key look. I applied this product to my lips with my finger and noticed that it formula is very thin and doesn't feel terribly moisturizing. Once this product has been on the lips for a bit it almost dries down which is not what I expect from a balm. This formula is not only drying but it make any dry spots on my lips look much more apparent. Pass.
4. Marula Pure Marula Facial Oil: I love facial oils. This oils has almost a lavender scent to it. The consistency of this product is on the thinner side compared to other facial oils that I've tried. It absorbs quickly into the skin and does not leave a greasy residue. Very nice product.
5. Elizabeth Mott Smooth Shadow in Penny: this is a copper pencil which sets and is supposedly waterproof. I applied a swatch on my hand to see the color which is a shimmery cooper with some micro glitter. It took over a minute to set and not feel tacky. I left the swatch on my hand but it seemed to wear away pretty quickly. Meh...maybe it would last longer on the eyes.
1 out 5...not my favorite Ipsy bag.
