Tarte Colored Clay 7-piece Collection
As you probably already know, I love Tarte. Almost every time QVC has a Tarte collection available I order it. This time was no different. The Tarte Colored Clay 7-piece Collection kit contains Amazonian Colored Clay CC Primer, Amazonian Colored Clay Bronzer Blush in Pink Bronze, Amazonian Colored Clay Liquid Foundation, Amazonian Colored Clay Eyeliner in Black, Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara and LipSurgence Lip gloss in True Love, an angled synthetic foundation brush and a hot pink cosmetic bag.
Let's get down to the nitty-gritty! The makeup bag is pretty unremarkable-- nothing special. The brush is very nice quality but I had trouble getting my foundation to look streak-free with it. The brush head is smaller in diameter that the flat top kabuki that I usually use, which makes it difficult to quickly cover all the surfaced of the face before the foundation begins to dry. It could be also be the combination of the CC primer and the liquid foundation and/or a little dehydration on my part due to this time of year (weather, indoor heating, etc).
Now for the color cosmetics: The bronzing blush is called Pink Bronze but it's more of a peachy bronze with a sheen. I wouldn't really use a product like this to contour, just bronze the areas of that face that usually get sun-kissed naturally. It also works as a subtle blush though I would have loved it to be pinker. The black liner seems to be pretty smooth and creamy upon application but I so rarely wear black pencil liner (usually gel or liquid for winged liner), so I haven't tried it on my eyes yet. I also haven't cracked open the mascara because I already have a million open at the moment. I know that I like this formula though and can't wait to use it again. The lip gloss is pretty but I'm not a fan of the micro glitter/sparkles much anymore. The gloss shade is pretty though-- a reddish pink-- so I'll give it a try when the mood strikes but that hasn't happened yet.
Overall, this isn't my favorite Tarte kit. Nothing is bad per se, but I was expecting something more. I'm going to continue to play around with the products. I know that I can make them work for me and maybe even grow to love them :)

The CC primer is slightly darker/more orangey than the liquid foundation which lighter/more neutral, though they are both supposed to be in the shade light. I notice a lot of shade inconsistency with Tarte foundations so I'm not really surprised. The tone of the foundation is pretty close to my skin and the coverage is light/medium. I don't know if I like the combination of the CC primer & the liquid foundation-- I feel like it looks a bit heavy or cakey on the skin. I've used the foundation over one of my other primers and like the results better. I wonder if I should try the CC primer on it's own-- I might like it better for no-makeup makeup days.
