My favorite Radiant Orchid lip products
I'm sure that any of you who've stepped foot into a Sephora in recent years or have interest in fashion are aware of the Pantone Color of the Year. This year's shade is Radiant Orchid-- 18-324. For the last several years, Sephora has been doing collections promoting the current Pantone color of the year-- the in-house brand is called Sephora + Pantone Universe. The collections contains variations on the current color and shades that compliment the color of the year. I've never actually purchased any items from these collections because I've heard mixed reviews on the quality of the products.
I was thrilled to hear this year's color was Radiant Orchid. Orchid shades have been in my collection over the last several years. One day I bought a purple lipstick on a whim and I never looked back. Purple-y shades are much more wearable than I use to think they were. I have several orchid shades that I've come across over the years. Here we go!
1. Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm in Crave: a vibrant magenta. Lasts forever on the lips and can be topped with balm for a bit of shine.
2. Maybelline Colorsensational The Elixir in Vision in Violet: a deep pinky-purple. This gloss is very comfortable and moisturizing.
3. Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick The Vivids in Brazenberry: a pinky violet. The formula is light and sheer.
4. Covergirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Devine: mid-tone lavender-mauve. This formula is creamy but on the drier side. Lasts forever and leaves a pink stain when removed.
5. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Berry Haute: a warm lilac. This formula is rich, creamy and opaque.
These shades are really much more wearable than you would think. Even if you've always been afraid of purple lipstick, give one of these a try. You'll be surprised at how flattering they can be.
